Exhibit on Display at Tulsa Artists’ Coalition Gallery
“Through watercolor, pen and ink, and mixed media, Laurel Payne presents a
series of expressive, non-traditional portraits that explore identity, emotion,
and human connection. Rather than striving for photographic likeness,
Payne interprets her subjects through intuitive mark-making, vibrant color, and
spontaneous applications of paint and ink. Ranging from intimate miniature
works to large-scale pieces on paper, the exhibition celebrates the unique
qualities that define each individual while inviting viewers to consider how
emotion and perception shape the way we see one another.”
